Amish Friendship Bread: A Treat for Family and Friends!

Growing up, my mom had little time to bake while raising five girls... that said, she prioritized her favorites so when she did find time to bake, you knew it was going to be good!! One recipe I specifically remember helping her with was Friendship Amish Bread. It was such a treat for our family and also turned into simple yet thoughtful gifts for friends and neighbors.

Making the bread is a 10-day process that is Super easy. Kids of all ages can be a part of the process and by the end of the recipe, it has enough batter to make two loaves of bread plus four starters to pass on (my mom would usually keep one for us to keep the process going)!

The boys and I made some for the first time this week and it is a tradition I am excited to continue!

When giving the bread or starter, I put a ribbon around it with a gift tag to make a thoughtful gift! Shop Gift tags here!

Pro-tip aka my mom's tip: when gifting the starter bag, put it in a cute small bread loaf pan to make it that much more special!

I hope you enjoy this recipe and more importantly all of the memories that come with it as much as we do!
