In the past month or so, I have started playing kids educational podcasts with the boys on the way to and from school. While searching, we stumbled upon one called "Smash Boom Best" - it is a show that takes two things and debates which is best. The boys really enjoyed "Pancakes vs Waffles" and after hearing about all the cool shapes you could make with pancakes, it developed into a morning of homemade St. Patrick's Day themed pancakes!
I am nowhere near a pancake artist, nor do I pretend to be😊, but we had such a fun time picking St. Patrick's Day shapes and making the pancakes together.
OUR SIMPLE HOW TO:
- Scroll through Pinterest with your kiddos and choose some shapes together. We chose:
- Four-Leaf Clover
- Rainbow
- Leprechaun Hat
- Pot of Gold
- Horse Shoe
- Jaybird's go-to easy pancake mix: Birch Benders (just add water...)
- Squeeze Bottle to help make the shapes
- Heat your pan and add batter in layers to have color variation... I did not master this, but we had fun trying haha!
- Remove all pressure - they're going to taste good no matter what they look like
My mission with Babs&Bird is to make things wholeheartedly with the intention of spreading joy through art... it was fun seeing that this small family activity embodied the mission in such a unique way.
Happy St. Patrick's Day a little early. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
